Easy on the Eyes: Illesteva Sunglasses

It's time to get il! Illesteva sunglasses have dropped into Room 2046 for Fall/Winter 2015. With one eye on tradition and the other to the future, the New York City based designers create eyewear that combines classic shapes and contemporary materials.

Since 2010, Illesteva maintains an experimental outlook without forgetting about the exquisite craftsmanship only found in the family-run factories of Italy, where all of their frames are made by hand, to order. No two pairs have exactly the same pattern because of their process that begins with a customized blend of raw materials such as acetate. After assembly, each pair is inspected meticulously to meet Illesteva's standard of excellence.

Not afraid of a good collaboration, Illesteva pushes boundaries of design by working with some stylish, creative, and fearless industry icons and celebrities. The likes of Velvet Underground frontman Lou Reed, supermodel Jourdan Dunn with NYC boutique Rochambeau, jewellery designer Jennifer Fisher, J. Crew, fashion designer Dasha Zhukova, fashion designer and Project Runway judge Zac Posen, House of Waris jewellery designer Waris Ahluwalia, and even the Webster Miami hotel during Art Basel in 2013, all have made limited edition frames inspiring the children.
