Canada 150: A Room 2046 Guide To Canadian Products
In honour of Canada Day, we are highlighting Canadian-made products carried at Room 2046. Although we source merchandise from around the world, we also buy from many companies based in Canada. Supporting local businesses directly impacts the economy in a positive way by creating jobs for Canadians, enriches our community, and helps reduce our carbon footprint.
At Room 2046, we have a line of products designed and made in-house. Our planters are hand-poured and painted in the Room 2046 studio, and are a stylish way to hold plants or candles. If you are interested in adding a touch of nature to home decor, check out our blog post on how to care for succulents and air plants.
We are also featuring a selection of candles inspired by classic summer cocktails. Make your favourite adult beverage last longer with one of these soy candles, hand-poured into a classic rocks glass. Our current scents include Old Fashioned, Sidecar and Mai Tai.
If you need help getting out of a crappy mood, come and see our cheeky line of original stationary. Whether one of your friends is celebrating a birthday, wedding, or generally getting their shit together, these cards are applicable to pretty much any occasion and are sure to put a smile on their face.
Firoza is a Toronto-based company whose handcrafted products blend traditional herbs and extracts with locally sourced, mostly organic ingredients. Take your summer self-care to the next level with their soothing handmade soaps and body butters. In addition to designing Firoza's brand identity and packaging, we have created an exclusive line of wrapping paper. It can be used to for DIYs, scrapbooking, or as premium gift wrap. We also have a Room Service set with trio of Firoza products, which makes a thoughtful and easy wedding or birthday gift.
Arielle de Pinto
If you are in search of jewellery to wear to a wedding or gala, Arielle de Pinto has a collection of beautiful pieces for any summer party. Arielle de Pinto is a self-taught jewellery designer who combines vintage elegance with modern sensibility to create handmade necklaces and earrings. Don't hesitate to come into our store to take a look at her collection, as each piece is produced in limited numbers.
If you've visited Room 2046 recently, you have probably noticed the beautiful artwork covering our walls. These are prints created from original watercolour paintings by Niki Kingsmill, a Toronto-based artist. They depict colourful food, drinks and plants, and are great as a housewarming or hostess gift.
Room 2046 is known for our collection of profane cards, many of which are made by Canadian-based companies. The Smitten Kitten I'm Gay for You Card is great for this time of year, as June is Toronto Pride Month and the 37th annual Toronto Pride Parade takes place on June 25th. Flakes Paperie is another Canadian brand, creating punny hand-printed products such as the Bitchin' Poodle Card.
Do you know any Canadian companies that we haven't discovered yet? Let us know what brands you think we should check out by emailing us at info@Room2046.com.
